Coal seam gas is a symbiotic or associated gas that occurs in coal seams, mainly composed of methane, whose calorific value is equivalent to natural gas, belonging to unconventional natural gas. Burning coal seam gas for power generation through the gas generator set produces almost no exhaust gas, making it a clean and efficient energy source. Coal seam gas mainly includes three categories, namely Coal-bed methane (CBM), coal-mine methane (CMM) and abandoned mine methane (AMM). The composition of CBM and AMM allows these two types of coal seam gas to be directly burned in gas generator set without any technical issues. Due to the sudden changes of the composition of CMM produced during mining, higher requirements are taken on the design of gas generator set. However, Liyu has developed corresponding improved gas generator set for this kind of gas.
